The selected candidate will lead the delivery of third line support, maintenance and continuous improvement of one of more key technical products such as Active Directory, unified communications, networks and user environment. Gather and prioritise requirements, define the product vision, and work closely with stakeholders to create development roadmaps for technical products which contribute to fulfilment of the Colleges business requirements.
Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Provide technical support for one or more technical products including monitoring and oversight of documentation, performance and availability; identify and rectify faults and other adverse issues to ensure accuracy, resource, security and recoverability requirements are met.
- Bring together views and perspectives of stakeholders and business owners to gain a wider picture of the product and surrounding activities and policies to ensure the team is building the right product to deliver the value expected of it and to help define the strategy and future plans for College IT environments.
- Evaluate and measure performance and issues through appropriate tools and alert monitoring. Troubleshoot and resolve issues, putting in place remediation actions and preventative measures.
To be successful in this role youll need:
- Strong demonstrable technical experience of developing and maintaining all elements of a technical product set, providing second or third line support, resolving system errors, designing changes and implementing enhancements
- Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships and removing barriers to successful service delivery
- Experience of working in a Government Secure IT Infrastructure environment

Technical skills
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:
- Design, implement, administer & support infrastructure technologies, solutions & services. Including computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, commercial-off-the-shelf software (COTS), & open source packages and solutions.
- Demonstrate an understanding of information security and the types of security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services.
- Problem management. Initiate & monitor actions to investigate patterns & trends to resolve problems. Effectively consult specialists where required. Determine the appropriate remedy & assist with implementation. Undefined preventative measures.
