Technical Security Analyst
Role Purpose:
To support the Technical Security Manager in the delivery and maintenance of a technical cybersecurity programme for existing and future technology solutions and services, ensuring that the Force’s Technology solutions are delivered and maintained securely, to protect them against an evolving threat landscape.
Acting as the day to day point of contact for the relationship with the National Management Centre (NMC), manging incoming alerts, escalating alerts, and ownership and tracking of alerts through to resolution whilst also liaising with internal departments and external parties in relation to technical security incident response.
To support effective and efficient communication between the Technology Department and the Information Assurance Department, working collaboratively to bring together the Information and Technical security elements to strengthen the overall cyber security posture. The Technical Security Analyst utilises relevant tooling and information sources to monitor the infrastructure, and provides regular status reports to the Technical Security Manager highlighting issues, risks or areas for improvement.
Assisting with the development of policies, standards, processes and guidelines for ensuring the physical and electronic security of Technology solutions. Reviewing new business proposals and providing specialist advice on technical security aspects.
Supporting the Technical Security Manager for internal and external audits, ensuring that the relevant access and facilities are made available, and that the relevant information and evidence are suitably prepared and supplied to the auditors to enable effective auditing.
Reports to Technical Security Manager, deputising for them when required.
