Deputy Chief Constable

Hertfordshire is a county full of contrasts from busy towns and cities to country lanes and picturesque villages, an extensive road and rail network as well as Heathrow, Stansted and Luton airports on the doorstep.

The newly appointed Chief Constable, Andy Prophet, is looking for a Deputy Chief Constable with the personal values, operational skills and collaborative qualities to lead, support and inspire a workforce of 4200 officers, staff and volunteers in proving excellent policing for communities, resident and businesses of Hertfordshire

The Constabulary is committed to preventing crime and harm, has well established partnerships and good levels of trust and confidence. However, as highlighted on the PEEL report published in October 2024, there is work to do to improve the recording and investigation of crime, embedding safeguarding practices in the force and ensuring a genuine and strong connection between the leadership team and the wider workforce.

If you have a passion for fighting crime, build safer communities, getting the best out people, enjoy coaching and building strong teams, if you want to be part of a leadership team and Constabulary committed to making Hertfordshire even safer we would love to hear from you.
