Job Title: Capital Manager
Salary: The starting salary is £71,503, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.
The salary is broken down as £68,662 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £75,638. Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

The Metropolitan Police has a complex capital programme which is essential to enabling public safety in the capital city through technology, estates, and fleet. Through the New Met for London change programme we are transforming across the service. We need to borrow to finance this investment as there is no general capital grant. The post holder will play a crucial role in driving value from our capital investment. As a key member of the finance team, your role will help to develop a sound and efficient operating model focussing on capital process areas.
- Work closely with senior finance colleagues to bringer stronger alignment to existing and future processes to improve outcomes.
- Lead on capital accounting in the Authority and assume responsibility for capital accounts.
- Lead on development of financial information for management and decision making for the MPS’s capital programme.
- Lead on providing key information in respect of capital for MPS’s Business Planning in relation to capital.
- Support the senior colleagues present complex financial analysis to assist decision-making, and for the purposes of financial accounting, grant claims, government returns, recharges, pricing, etc.
