Salary Range: £29,109 - £31,296

Work Location: Near Fareham

Hours per week: Monday – Friday with flexible office hours

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as an Intelligence Researcher, within a national policing unit.

More about the role

This role will provide an intelligence and safeguarding function in support of ACRO business areas. They will co-ordinate intelligence activities undertaken at ACRO with stakeholders including both UK and overseas Law Enforcement Agencies. They will provide a wide range of support services within ACRO ensuring the timely and accurate dissemination of intelligence for the purposes of prevention and detection of crime, and to safeguard vulnerable members of society in the UK and across the world.

Essential Qualifications

Educated to Educated to QCF Level 2 Three to five passes to include English language and Maths OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

Essential 

  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant law, criminal investigations and criminal justice processes.
  • Ability to interrogate and analyse a broad range of information systems in order to assess risk and create supporting documents.
  • Proven experience working under pressure, handling complex, confidential and sensitive data and updating records meeting service level agreements.
  • To be computer literate with MS Office programmes and be a competent keyboard user working at pace and with accuracy.

 

Desirable: 

  • Experience of working in a research role within an intelligence environment. Knowledge of the Police National Computer (PNC) and other police information systems.
  • An understanding and appreciation of information compliance, the National Intelligence Model (NIM), the Management of Police Information (MoPI).
