Vehicle Removal Officer

Come and manage Leicestershire Polices Vehicle Recovery Scheme.

The Vehicle Fleet Team are looking to recruit a Vehicle Removal Officer on a full-time permanent basis, based at Force Headquarters, Leicestershire. As a Vehicle Removal Officer, you will manage the recovery, storage and processing of vehicles seized and recovered by the Force while also dealing with the administration surrounding the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • To investigate complaints made against recovery operators and provide evidence and reports suitable for use in legal proceedings if necessary.
  • To deal with the public, vehicle owners and victims of crime, exercising discretion and providing reassurance and explanation in circumstances which may cause distress and dissatisfaction.
  • To manage vehicle disposal matters making effective decisions that comply with force polices and legislative requirements.

The must haves

  • Experience in a role involving incident response by an emergency service or recovery operator with the ability to monitor and enforce the compliance of recovery operators.
  • Knowledge of police powers to remove vehicles and an awareness of the legislation governing the use of recovery vehicles.
  • Experience working in a public or customer facing environment with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Good report writing skills to present statistics and financial information.

Salary - £38,754 - £42,897

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
