ERSOU- ROCU - DS Proactive Economic Crime Team (PECT)
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen where applications are invited from substantive Detective Sergeants, or those who have passed a promotion process and are awaiting a posting to join the Proactive Economic Crime Team (PECT). The post will oversee a pod of Detectives based in Kent and Essex.The PECT is an exciting team that targets organised criminals who prey on the most vulnerable within our communities. The PECT will utilise both criminal (covert and overt) and civil powers to target organised criminals to cause disruption, seize and deny their assets and confiscate items from those who benefit from their suspected criminal activities.
As part of the PECT you will be working together with the Regional Forces, other ROCUs and City of London Police focusing on proactive action against Serious and Organised Fraud and Economic Crime. The team consists of 4 DSs and 16 Police Officers and Civilian Investigators.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
The PECT Detective Sergeant will be responsible for managing and supervising the pro-active development of intelligence linked to Serious & Organised Crime with a specific focus on High Harm Fraud and Money Laundering Criminality across the 7-force region.
The PECT DS will lead from the front, be keen, proactive and demonstrate attention to detail in investigative management, relishing the challenges of leading proactive deployments and managing complex investigations.
Candidates should have experience of working with partners, delivering operational outcomes and intelligence building. Ideally the candidate will have a proven track record of managing covert tactics, fraud and money laundering-based investigations or demonstrate a knowledge of how to approach this effectively.
