Volunteer Vehicle Checker

As a Vehicle Checker, you’ll play a vital role by performing weekly safety and equipment checks on police vehicles. Imagine being the person who ensures these vehicles are always in top condition, ready to respond to emergencies!

Here’s a snapshot of your key tasks:

Work through a detailed checklist on each vehicle, inspecting crucial items like lights, tyres, oil, screen wash, and emergency equipment (first aid kits, road signs, cones, etc.).

Make sure the vehicles are clean to be seen on North Yorkshire's roads. Log your findings onto our computer system, flagging any issues like missing equipment or vehicle damage.

Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements, while our workshop team takes quick action on your reports to fix issues (for example, replacing bald tyres or restocking equipment).
