High Harm Victim Care Coordinator
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who wants to support the development and delivery of a new way to undefined victims of high harm crimes.Funding from the OPCC has given us the exciting opportunity to shape the future of outstanding victim care for those victims of domestic abuse, rape and serious sexual offences, working across the
Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding Unit (DAISU) and Sexual Offences Investigation Team (SOIT). The role will be managed by the Detective Sergeant of the Beacon Safeguarding Hub which is co-located within DAISU. The innovative post is currently funded for 2 years and then subject to evaluation to test effectiveness.
You will be joining a highly motivated team of staff and officers with your key role being focused on delivering procedural justice to improve victim experience, build trust and confidence, reducing victim attrition as a consequence.
The aim of the post, through collaborative and partnership working, is to help reduce witness attrition by addressing those issues that may cause a victim to have concerns, doubts or practical difficulties in attending court.
In addition to this there will be regular victim contact, assessing the needs of victims, providing advice, guidance and undefined for victims of domestic abuse, rape and serious sexual offences.
You will provide them with safeguarding and signposting, and referring them onwards to appropriate undefined agencies.
If you have strong communication skills, a desire to help victims of domestic abuse rape and serious sexual offences, and are confident using different computer systems then this could be the job for you.
Also previous experience in setting up pilot schemes or managing projects would be preferred.
You will be working a shift pattern to address when there may be the need to contact victims out of normal working day hours.
