Server and Storage Engineer

As a Server and Storage Engineer you will be an integral part of the infrastructure team, contributing to the design, development and implementation of a server, storage and client technology strategy and roadmap.

You will work in a team of server and storage technology specialists to deliver a secure, robust, highly available, and up to date service offering which adds real value to the delivery of frontline Police and Fire Services.

Day to day, you’ll focus on incident resolutions, problems, and changes to maintain a highly available service. You will get the opportunity to participate in exciting projects to deliver new technologies and improvements across the server and storage estate.

You will work within a team of skilled engineers, where your professional self-development is supported and encouraged with access to self-paced and vendor lead training.

Key Responsibilities:

· In-depth and technical incident resolution

· Maintaining and upgrading the server & storage estate

· Participation in project work to deliver new technologies

· Participation in On-call rota

What We're Looking For:

An energised, outcome focused professional, with ideally 3 or more years’ experience working in the server and storage field.

Essential Experience

· Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy)

· VMware vSphere, vSAN or equivalent virtualised environments

· Microsoft Azure

· Office 365 stack

· Strong troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills Desirable experience

· Microsoft Intune

· Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VMware, Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop)

· SCCM

· Backup Technologies

· Linux

· Windows PowerShell

· PKI / Certificates

· ITIL based environments for incident, problem and Change management processes

Server & Storage Engineer Package

· Hybrid working – one to two days in the office
