Regional Forensic Submissions Manager
The above salary is based on a full time (37 hour) salary. If you are successful in a part time role this will be pro-rata'd to reflect your working hours.

This is a rare opportunity to join the Identification Services management team within Southwest Forensics.
The successful candidate will lead an experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate team of Forensic Submissions Officers who gatekeep and manage Devon & Cornwall and Dorset’s forensic exhibit submission to contracted external forensic service providers. Working closely in partnership with the Regional Forensic Submissions Manager based in Portishead who oversees Avon & Somerset and Wiltshire’s submissions, both managers jointly oversee the Regional Forensic Submission service ensuring that Forces receive the optimum forensic result and intelligence at the best value in accordance with the national framework and national procurement contracts.
Southwest Forensics is looking for an experienced manager to fulfil this demanding but rewarding role that engages, supports, and guides their team in delivering the best possible service through changeable forensic landscapes. The role holder will use their leadership skills to build and maintain good working relationships at Local and Regional Force level as well as external agencies to maintain best service and to identify and act on areas for improvement. The role is based at Devon & Cornwall Police HQ, Middlemoor, but travel to Regional Locations such as Bridgwater Police Station and Avon & Somerset HQ to attend meetings will be required monthly (on average).
Southwest Forensics is a collaboration between the southwest police forces and delivers Forensic provision for Digital, CSI and Identification Services. As a manager within Identification Services the role holder will join an experienced team of managers who lead their specialist teams: Forensic Submissions, Fingerprint Bureau, Fingerprint Enhancement Laboratory, Custody Sampling, and Forensic Support.
