Digital Media and Technical Development Manager

We are welcoming applications for the role of Digital Media and Technical Development Manager with Devon & Cornwall Police based at the following location(s): Police Headquarters, Exeter 

Salary: Grade 9 - Starts at £46,674 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £51,252 per annum 
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon and Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.

Type of employment: Permanent 

Type of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker -  Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace.
Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. However we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.
Allowances: This role attracts no allowances.
About the role:  

The purpose of the role is to manage and develop all digital communication offerings across the Alliance including web development and design, video, social media technical, digital design, GIS mapping and print services. The main responsibilities of the role are: 

  • To develop appropriate web & digital media content / applications, in consultation with the customer needs whilst reflecting the cultures of the Forces.
  • Maintain a test-and-learn culture across the organisations, ensuring our digital offerings are insight-driven and audience-led.
  • Manage effective completion of projects, using appropriate content, hardware and software solutions, combined with professional judgement to deliver approved digital communication.
  • Maintain awareness of digital media trends within this particular professional field.
  • Contribute towards and maintain the digital strategy/roadmap and offering, ensuring alignment with the ICT department.

Selection Stage: 

The selection for this role will consist of Shortlisting, Interview.

Applications will be anonymised and then shortlisted by the shortlisting panel. Following the shortlisting you will be notified of the recruitment decision via email along with feedback on your application. 

If successful, you will then be invited to an interview. This will be based on the behaviours outlined within the role profile. The interview process is due to take place week commencing 20 May 2024.

Pre-requisites:
