Administrative Support Assistant (Business Support) SEROCU
We are looking for a dynamic Administrative Support Assistant to join our Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU). Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will directly support the Secretariat in the provision of providing comprehensive and flexible administrative support and confidential secretarial services.
The successful candidate will complete often sensitive and confidential administrative tasks including: diary management to include effective timetabling and co-ordination of activities, typing, taking minutes, record keeping and answering routine queries.
Further administrative tasks will include undertaking general reception duties, managing requisitions and utilising systems to raise orders, ensuring customer requirements are achieved within financial constraints. Being responsible for taking delivery and despatch of incoming/outgoing mail, stationery and general orders.
We are looking for a candidate who has excellent secretariat and organisational skills and is proactive in the development of processes to meet the business need.
A confident communicator, with an aptitude to deal with various levels of internal and external customers, proven time management and with the ability to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload.
The candidate should have a good standard of education, excellent literacy and numeric skills, and the ability to take minutes with good verbal and written communication skills. Proven interpersonal skills are essential together with an ability to promote professional working relationships with personnel at all levels. Recent experience of working in an office environment is required with evidence demonstrating discretion, tact and diplomacy, initiative, and flexibility with a willingness to learn and embrace new ways of working/technology.
This role will be required to travel to various locations across the South East Region for business purposes, covering meetings or providing resilience for administrative tasks at our other Sites.
This role will be based near junction 12 of the M4.
You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
