Chief Inspector Transferee - External Boards DE24

Make your experience count, join Derbyshire Constabulary!

At Derbyshire Constabulary we pride ourselves on recognising people with real potential. That’s why we offer our leaders so much support, motivation and training because, as they improve, so will our force.

If you are substantive rank of Chief Inspector, or substantive Inspectors seeking promotion to Chief Inspector we would love to hear from you. We’re looking for people focused leaders who will be visible change agents within our organisation; who are comfortable setting and maintaining standards; who will support, coach and mentor their teams and who aren’t afraid to constructively challenge when they see opportunities to improve our performance. All you have to do is bring us your talent, dedication and enthusiasm and we’ll welcome you to the team.

Why Derbyshire? As a force, we have a strong and unequivocal commitment to delivering a high-quality policing service for everyone in the county – whether for our one million residents or our 10 million visitors each year. Whilst our urban areas present some policing challenges, Derbyshire is a predominantly rural area, much of it within the Peak District National Park, offering opportunities for an outdoor lifestyle and an enhanced quality of life.

Our central location, with excellent transport links, makes us accessible from most areas of the country. We’re not the largest of forces but we make the headlines because we aren’t afraid to try new approaches.

You’ll be working alongside a variety of highly motivated, ambitious and capable people in a forward-looking organisation continually looking to be at the forefront of technological innovation.

By joining us, you’ll play a unique role in helping us to keep Derbyshire as one of the safest places to live and work in England. In return you will retain:

  • Your previous service and current levels of pay (excluding force specific benefits i.e. London weighting).
  • Annual leave entitlement, as long as there is no break in service.
  • Your current pension arrangements.

The must haves

  • Substantive in the rank of Chief Inspector or substantive Inspector.
  • Be a member of a Home Office force or Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) or Police Scotland (please note we cannot accept an application to transfer from an officer serving with a non-Home Office police force).
  • Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.

What’s in it for you?

At Derbyshire Constabulary, we aim to create an environment that puts people first. We want you to feel supported in everything you do, so you can give your very best. What’s more, we have a range of reward and benefits that if you join us you could enjoy.
