Here are some of the accountabilities of the Force Resource Planner role:

  • To assist the Force Resource Manager with the future planning of operational resources for North Wales Police
  • Plan and maintain a 12 months’ resource plan for operational areas
  • Apply a minimum of 3 months’ notice for change of duties for all operational officers
  • Work with key stakeholders across the force, to deploy resources to meet dynamic and planned activities, whilst maintaining operational resilience
  • Plan and prioritise abstraction effectively to maintain/govern the desired level of resourcing in all operational areas
  • Maintain compliance with Force procedures and directives, Police Regulations and the Police Staff Local Agreements

What will I need to be considered for this Force Resource Planner role?

  • Minimum NVQ 4 qualification. Qualification in Mathematics is desirable or proven evidence of the use of Mathematics in previous roles.
  • Proven analytical skills and experience; familiarity of forecasting resources (roster patterns) would be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised and having worked with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Knowledge of legislation relating to shift work, working time regulations, terms and conditions and health and safety.
  • Demonstrate accurate and competent keyboard skills.
  • Has knowledge of Microsoft Office with focus on ability to demonstrate efficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.  The ability to create, develop and manipulate complex spreadsheets would be advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively with colleagues at all levels.  
  • Proven ability to organise and prioritise workload efficiently to meet tight timeframes. Previous experience of working to deadlines, and have the ability to work with high degree of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to gather and review information, identify options and recommend actions.
  • Demonstrate strong/professional customer focus.
