Case Progression Officer
An opportunity to join a busy department liaising with officers and partner agencies in achieving timely conclusion of cases through the Criminal Justice System. You will be responsible for cases going though the court process, both Magistrates and Crown Courts, and will see each case through from start to finish in order to obtain justice for the victims of crime. This is a challenging role, in which strict timelines must be adhered to, it is heavily IT based however training and support will be provided by this close-knit team.
The principal responsibility of the Case Progression Officer is to support an effective Criminal Justice System (CJS) by ensuring prosecution files are provided to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in accordance with National File Standard (NFS) and relevant service level agreements and guidance. This includes:
- Transfer case files to CPS via the records management system (RMS) Two Way Interface (TWIF).
- Working autonomously to research, update and ensure accuracy of data and information in a range of computer systems.
- Interpreting the information for the preparation of compliant case files whilst prioritising and managing a workload, ensuring that timelines are followed, and cases are updated and completed / redacted documents are submitted as required.
- Working collaboratively with the Officer-In-Case (OIC), to meet the quality assurance and compliance (NFS/Directors Guidance) of PIP Level 2 (except RASSO), all Public Protection case files, identifying performance issues, and along with other file types that have been reviewed by the ERO Team, successfully managing their timely navigation through the Criminal Justice process.
- To provide a point of contact for regular liaison between internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the accurate completion and submission of case files, using specialist knowledge of legislation and national guidelines.
