About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Criminal Justice – Crime Operations team as a Traffic Bureau Support Officer. Based at Athena House in York, you’ll play a key role in supporting North Yorkshire Police’s safety camera operations and traffic enforcement processes - contributing directly to road safety across our communities.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- View and validate offences captured by safety cameras
- Create and manage enforcement records and notices (e.g. Notices of Intended Prosecution, Speed Awareness Offers)
- Administer fixed penalty notices and road traffic offence reports
- Process replies and follow-up enquiries for untraced vehicle owners
- Maintain accurate paper and digital records
- Prepare court files and assist with correspondence related to speed management
- Provide general office support including filing, photocopying, and minute-taking
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate:
- Proven administration experience
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
