Do you want to assist Thames Valley Police and provide independent scrutiny of use of policing powers and encounters by TVP officers in order to facilitate continuous learning, improvement of police services and identification of good practice?
We are looking to appoint Community Scrutiny Panel Members (CSP) to support our new Local Command Units across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes. The CSP will objectively and independently review matters of disproportionality, looking at areas such as use of force, stop and search, hate crime, Policing operations, critical and/or Major Incidents and workforce recruitment and retention in the context of legislation, guidance, policy and procedure.

Whatever your background or expertise, you will share our values to work impartially and with integrity contributing a wide range of experience which is of value to the Group and be well-informed, interested and engaged in the issues facing our local communities.
We are looking for people who may have experience of effectively challenging and questioning information to make balanced, reasonable and proportionate judgements to improve the delivery of policing for our communities. Regardless of experience, Panel Members will be supported to ensure their voice is empowered and is heard.
Applicants must be over the age of 16, live, work or study in the Thames Valley area and be able to commit time to attend quarterly full panel meetings and more regular sub-group meetings, contribute to discussions and undertake training.
