We look forward to reading your application for the role of Radio Frequencies Technician.
The selected candidate will work in partnership to provide or enable support to those working in policing, through setting standards, sharing knowledge and good practice and supporting professional development. Contributing to improving knowledge and practice within a College professional community. Offering practical support for policing in line with the College strategy and business plan. Maintaining, identifying and providing specialist communications and technical equipment to support the design, development and delivery of covert and other technical skills learning programmes.
Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Installing, or facilitating the installation, testing, maintaining and repairing communications and asset tracking systems to vehicles to ensure their correct, safe and secure operation.
Identifying and carrying out timely, planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs on radio, electronic and other technical equipment for covert and other technical skills training to provide continued operational effectiveness appropriate to needs.
Liaising with Technical Skills Training Teams, Technical Support colleagues to identify evolving technical equipment to ensure a timely, value for money and appropriate supply and availability to meet agreed requirements.
To be successful in this role youll need:
Experience in the production and analysis of statistics and management information.
Proven experience of planning and executing preventative maintenance, workload schedules and materials ordering.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to translate technical and academic language into an appropriate format and style for all stakeholders.

Technical skills
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:
- Proven experience of planning preventative maintenance, workload schedules and materials ordering.
- Extensive experience in electronics, video and/or data transmission installation.
- Ability to work in a pressurised environment dealing with a range of tasks simultaneously.
