We are welcoming applications for the role of ICT Network Manager with Devon & Cornwall Police based at the following location(s): Police Headquarters, Exeter, Police Headquarters, Winfrith, Dorset 

Salary: Grade 8 - Starts at £40,950 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £45,546 per annum 
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon and Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.

About the role:  

It’s an exciting time to join the Alliance ICT department.  We’re about to embark on a 10 year contract with BT to deliver our Managed Services across Devon & Cornwall and Dorset Police Forces.  Alongside the new contractual arrangements, we’re restructuring our ICT department to align ourselves to be able to manage the contract delivery and take forward new, key areas where we need to develop our remit to deliver a forward thinking, proactive and results orientated service to our customers and stakeholders.

The ICT Network Manager will be reporting to the ICT Digital Delivery Manager alongside Hosting, Communications, Technical Security and Application management teams. The ICT Network Manager has responsibility for the supply of Voice & Data Network services and will achieve this by utilising our Managed Services Contract with BT, in-house resources and by managing other third-party contracts.
Voice & Data Networks encompasses:

  • WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi services across 150+ sites in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.
  • 999 and 101 provision to our call centres
  • Unified communication solutions to our 10,000+ officers and staff
  • Maintaining high standards of security for all our services

This role can be based at our Devon and Cornwall Police Headquarters in Exeter or Dorset Police Headquarters in Winfrith. This is a hybrid role which means there is an opportunity for regular home working.

About you:

An experienced and successful ICT professional, you will have broad all round knowledge and experience of ICT Service Management and an excellent understanding of the technologies and trends for network and telephony provision.
This role will suit someone with a history of hands-on technical experience who is looking for a move into the management of teams and contracts. Or you have that experience of managing contracts and are looking for new challenges within a larger organisation.


Importantly, you will have a significant understanding of security best practice and are able to establish professional relationships with non-technical police colleagues as well as our technology suppliers.
