Complaints and Standards Committee Panel Members- Volunteer

Complaints and Standards Committee Panel members

The Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police and the Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Thames Valley are seeking motivated volunteers who will support the integrity of local policing in the Thames Valley.

The Complaints and Standards Committee, (jointly established by the Chief Constable and PCC) will regularly conduct thorough reviews of the complaint-handing and review processes within the force and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC). This includes identifying any discrepancies between the force and OPCC’s perception of proper procedures and the actual experiences of the end user.

The Committee will help to ensure that Thames Valley Police achieves the highest levels of integrity and service delivery which will, in turn, enhance public trust and confidence in local policing.

We welcome applications from anyone regardless of age, experience, sexuality, religion/beliefs, disability, ethnicity, heritage, gender, socio-economic background or other differences.

The successful applicants will be motivated by public service and a desire to bring about genuine, positive change and possess an empathetic and respectful communication approach to understanding the context, culture and history reflected in both individual and community perspectives.

If you have any queries, please contact the Recruitment Department at RecruitmentPoliceStaff@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk quoting reference 0407. We will endeavour to respond to your query as quickly as possible.

Please use Google Chrome when completing your application, wherever possible, as this will enhance performance.

The closing date for enquiries and receipt of completed applications is 31 December 2024

For this role you will be subjected to a level of police vetting. The level will be dependent upon the role and with the higher levels of vetting, applicants could be asked to provide details of family members, partner, partner’s parents and co-residents, as well as additional information regarding their own personal circumstances. This process is required to ensure that Thames Valley Police comply with the legislation of the Vetting Code of Practice.

Whilst we endeavour to complete all vetting within 30 working days of receipt of vetting forms, unfortunately this is not always the case due to operational demand and back-logs, and could take considerably longer.

If you have any concerns or queries regarding your application or vetting, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
