Chief Firearms Instructor

Applications are invited for the post of Chief Firearms Instructor (CFI), based at the Tactical Training Centre (TTC), Urlay Nook.

You will be responsible for developing, leading, managing and delivering accredited training to all roles under the firearms training licence within Cleveland Police and Durham Constabulary, ensuring adherence with the Code of Practice on Armed Policing and Police Use of Less Lethal Weapons 2020, APP-AP, NPFTC, National Armed Policing & CoP doctrine, together with local guidance, practice and policy.

The successful candidate will be expected to work from TTC Urlay Nook. Some travel will be involved.

Applicants should currently be a CFI or Deputy CFI and possess, or be working towards a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or equivalent; be a Level 3 TAQA (A1) Assessor and possess a NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely qualification. v Applicants must be a currently accredited national firearms instructor, and must have extensive operational experience as an ARV officer, OFC or Tactical Advisor.
