Information Governance and Compliance Officer

EMSOU is seeking to recruit two full time Information Governance and Compliance Officer’s into a permanent role located in the vicinity of junction 27. Please note that this role will require regional travel.
As an Information Governance and Compliance Officer you will liaise with senior staff, officers, legal services and commercial suppliers providing proactive Information Governance support, offering specialist technical advice and ensuring that relevant strategies and policies are fit for purposes, effective, and implemented across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of our organisational Information Governance framework.
- Helping the Information Manager and Operational Security Officer in investigating and reacting to information incidents.
- Report on the findings audits and inspections in a clear and concise manner and make effective recommendations so that appropriate prioritisation and actions are taken.
The must haves
- To be educated to degree level in a numerate or literate discipline or demonstrate experience of working at a similar level.
- Hold relevant professional qualifications in information management, governance and / or data sharing such as BCS Practitioners Certificate in Data Protection, BCS Practitioner Certification in Information Risk Management; or demonstrate experience of working to a similar standard.
- Demonstrate a working experience of the Data Protection Act, Information Security and Risk Management values as they pertain to the collection, use, processing, storage, sharing and disposal of data and information.

- For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
- Salary: £36,996 - £40,950
- Due to MV/SC vetting requirements, you must have 5 years continuous residency within the UK at the time of application.
