ERSOU CT – Dedicated Source Unit – PC/DC

The unit is responsible for protecting the public from Terrorism and other Extremist activity and has a wide scope of duties in this arena. The role of the Handler within the unit will be primarily developing working relationships with CHIS assets to obtain intelligence to assist a range of investigations of interest to National Security. Other duties include liaising with relevant organisations and partner agencies, the recruitment of CHIS and developing recruitment pipelines (This list is not exhaustive). Whilst previous CHIS handling experience would be beneficial, this is not a pre-requisite to be eligible to apply. Applicants will need to show they have a knowledge of RIPA.

This advert is open to Police Constables and Detective Constables across the six forces of the Eastern Region, as well as to external candidates. The post is based at a discreet location in Hertfordshire. Regional, national, and potential international travel will be required.
