SO1/2-Policy and Business Manager

North West Armed Policing Collaboration Policy and Business Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified police staff member to join the North West Armed Policing Collaboration (NWAPC) based at our Runcorn office as the Policy and Business Manager.

The NWAPC is responsible for the delivery of Armed Policing, Firearms Command and STO Taser training across 4 North West police forces – Cheshire, Cumbria, Merseyside and North Wales. This training is a high-risk area of business and is delivered under licenses issued by the College of Policing. It is therefore essential there is a robust governance process within NWAPC to support the effective delivery of this training.

The role of the Policy and Business Manager is to research, develop, review and maintain the North West Armed Policing Collaboration (NWAPC) Policies and Procedures for both Armed Policing and STO Taser in line with current legislation and national guidance. The role will develop the NWAPC Training Strategic Threat and Risk Assessment (STRA) for both Armed Policing and STO Taser to identify training needs, whilst produce regular performance monitoring and organisational learning of the service provided.

This is a really interesting time to be involved in this area of business and you will be able to help shape the policies, processes and format of Armed Policing and STO Taser training across the North West region.

The role will be required to work in partnership with all of the collaborating forces to support the delivery of training to help these forces effectively equip their officers to protect themselves and the public.

The applicant will predominantly work a Monday to Friday daytime pattern and will be expected on occasion to travel across the North-West based on demands of the role. There is always a degree of flexibility in working arrangements and agile working dependent on organisational needs.
