West Yorkshire Police, the lead Force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS), is looking to recruit a further Accreditation Officer to be based at Calder Park, Wakefield.

This is an excellent opportunity to join this specialist team and provide support to the Regional Accreditation and Standards Manager in the delivery and management of the RSSS Quality Management System. Covering multiple and varied forensic activities, you will ensure compliance with current ISO standards, e.g. ISO 17020, 17025, to enable the provision of an efficient and effective forensic service to Police Forces in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

The ideal candidate will have a sound working knowledge of ISO standards as well as experience of implementing and supporting an ISO management system. Proven experience as an assessor/auditor on internal/external auditing of processes to ISO 17020 or 17025 standards is essential.

Strong supervisory skills, with experience of problem solving and working to timescales within an operational environment, are key attributes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to check, prepare and present reports is also a requirement. In addition, ideal candidates will hold a current full driving licence, have access to own vehicle, and be prepared to use it for business purposes. Successful applicants will be prepared to work flexibly to suit business needs and to travel, as required, throughout the Yorkshire and Humber area.

Within the Career Progression Scheme, based on the role entry requirements, the starting salary for appointed candidates will normally be at the bottom scale-point of the grade. An appointment may, however, be made at a higher scale-point should qualifications, skills and experience be commensurate - this is subject to appropriate approval.

Please note that due to the nature of the role, appointed candidates will be required to provide biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for inclusion on the respective Police elimination databases. This is for routine speculative searching purposes.
