MASH Supervisor
MASH is a demanding area of business, responsible for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. Working in partnership with those with a legal and statutory responsibility to safeguard those most vulnerable. Business hours are therefore in line with our partners and therefore flexible working would not in these circumstances meet the needs of those most vulnerable in our communities or meet our business needs.
In this important role you will review and supervise the risk in relation to safeguarding vulnerable individuals and ensure that the appropriate police response, lawful information sharing and referral to other agencies is taken. Along with managing and quality assuring the sharing of information with other agencies you will also supervise, manage and professionally develop staff within the team.
You will need to have proven experience of safeguarding vulnerable people along with experience of communicating effectively at all levels, both orally and in writing. You will also need proven supervisory experience in a demanding, fast paced role along with the ability to coach, develop and mentor staff, sometimes remotely.
You must have the capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential.
All applicants will be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process.
Along with all other posts in the Force CID, Intelligence and Specialist Operations departments this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.
