Property Officer

We are looking for someone with the right blend of communication and IT skills to help provide an efficient property service and to oversee the storing, safekeeping, and movement of evidence.

You will be providing a supporting role in the efficient handling, movement & storage of police evidential exhibits across Hertfordshire stations in line with policy and procedures including all H&S aspects.

You will be managing enquiries in relation to property, and you will be using an IT system, so accurate keyboard skills are essential.

You will be expected to become fully proficient with the property SOP ensuring it is adhered to in the day-to-day management of property exhibits.

You will be involved in the review and upkeep of records in relation to all aspects of the property management system (PMS). To ensure that property items are evenly spread across property storage areas across the County. To recommend any improvements to storage facilities and processes. To work with external partners, police officers and investigators to dispose of property efficiently and effectively. To deliver support and awareness of the property SOP and all elements of PMS. To contribute to achieving the Constabulary vision, purpose, and values.

At times you will find yourself working under pressure, so you must be able to organise and prioritise your workload effectively.

The successful candidate will be required to work a shift system involving evening and weekend working (please note; the shift pattern is a guideline only at this time due to anticipated re-structuring).

The post holder will be required to work from different locations other than the base station of Hatfield, therefore a full driving license, business insurance and own transport is essential.
