Job Title: Communications Junior Manager
Salary: The starting salary is £38,926, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £35,998 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £38,523. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: Sidcup: This is a hybrid working post. You will be expected to spend 3 days per week in the office at Marlowe House.
In Met Business & Operational Support Services we provide a range of services to the Met, including Fleet, Vehicle Recovery, Catering, Travel, Uniform, ID Passes, Exhibit Management, Resourcing, Employee Relations and local support to borough policing teams. Whilst these services are quite different in what they deliver, the desired outcomes of delighting our customers, improving performance, delivering innovative services that are value for money and supporting and developing our people are the same.
As a Communications Junior Manager, you’ll be joining the Service Improvement, Performance & Innovation team, which oversees the Portfolio Management Office and Comms Team within Met Business & Operational Support Services. Together with our team, you’ll ensure that we raise the profile of MBOSS across our customer base and help develop the brand.
In this crucial role, you will assist with the day to day running of the department, by proving a high level of proactive support to the Communications Manager, to ensure all communications have a customer centric approach and service improvements and benefits are communicated and promoted.
You will be responsible for the design and management of the MBOSS annual communications calendar and general tasks connected with this, such as writing communications products that are clear, succinct and relevant to ensure our staff and customers feel informed and listened to.
You will oversee the creation of the monthly ‘Digest’ and regularly update our Viva Engage, Info Portal and Customer Hub platforms. In addition, you will assist with ad hoc events and provide training in order to build comms skill and capability within the business group.
Please note that if selected you will be expected to remain in this role for two years before applying for any other internal roles.
