Crime Recorder

Crime Recorder

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Force Crime Recording Unit as a Crime Recorder based at the Police Headquarters in Winsford, on a temporary basis for 2 years.

As a key member of the Public Contact team, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate crime recording reports at the point of contact with victims. This role requires strict adherence to the Home Office Counting Rules and National Crime Recording Standards, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Teamwork is essential in this role, as you will collaborate closely with various policing departments and officers to ensure victims receive services in line with the current Victims Code. You will receive comprehensive training and a supportive coaching plan to help you understand and apply the current crime standards effectively.

We value continued professional development, and you will have opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge as you progress in your role. The ideal candidate will be methodical, organised, and capable of processing and analysing information to identify potential issues and propose solutions. Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial, as is the ability to identify hidden crimes and risks, ensuring a high standard of crime recording for victims in Cheshire.

The role demands the ability to work effectively under pressure, independently, and with resilience, while also being able to challenge and influence colleagues at all levels. Experience with computerised administration is advantageous. Candidates will undergo an accuracy assessment prior to the interview stages.

We are keen to move quickly with this opportunity and as such assessments and interviews are being planned to take place on 19th and 20th March.  If you are not able to attend on these dates then we will not be able to provide an alternative.

Please see the attached Role Profile for more details.
