Resource & Incident Management Officer
Due to the nature of the role candidates will need to have reached the age of 18 by the start date.
Salary:
Including the 20% shift allowance the salary starts at £38,696 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £42,631 per annum
This post also attracts a weekend working allowance (which is claimable) This accumulates to approximately an additional £2500 per year (pro rata for part time working).
The role:
This is a unique job for a unique person which demands excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and a positive attitude. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a close knit, supportive team, as well as make decisions in situations which may at times be distressing. The ability to listen effectively, multi-task and type information accurately is essential.
Resource and Incident Management Officers provide a vital link between members of the public and operational Police Officers, whilst making a key contribution to the lives of those across Devon and Cornwall when they are most in need.
You will work closely with our Police Officers, deploying them to both routine and emergency incidents via police radio channels whilst prioritising the vulnerable, assessing risk and responding appropriately according to needs.
The role will also require you to assist in taking 999 calls and calls from other agencies such as the ambulance service.
Annual leave will not be permitted during the training courses, dates will be provided to you at offer of appointment.

Selection Stage:
The selection for this role will consist of Interview, Situational Judgement Test (CRC / FCC only), Assessment, Virtual Assessment (CRC/FCC only).
Applications will be anonymised and then shortlisted by the shortlisting panel. Following the shortlisting you will be notified of the recruitment decision via email along with feedback on your application.
If successful, you will then be invited to an interview. This will be based on the Competency Values Framework at Level 1, 2 or 3 as detailed in the role profile and additional CVF document..
Some roles may also require an assessment and / or fitness test. Further information on this will be provided following the eligibility process.
Pre-requisites:
If you are successful through the selection stage of the recruitment process, we will make a conditional offer of appointment and commence pre-requisite checks. These checks can include:

- Reference checks,
- Medical assessment,
- Qualification review,
- Right to Work checks.
A formal offer of appointment and start date will not be agreed until all checks are satisfactorily completed. If you are successful at the selection stage your conditional offer will outline which of these checks are applicable to you.
