Job Title: Communications Officer

Salary: The starting salary is £38,926, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.

The salary is broken down as £35,998 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £38,523. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Location: Hendon, Sidcup, Victoria Embankment

 

Job Summary

Working within the Learning & Development (L&D) communications team and reporting directly to the Communications & Engagement Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging communications that support organisational priorities and enhance employee engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in communications or a related discipline. You will help plan, create, and deliver compelling content across multiple channels, ensuring our messaging is clear, consistent, and impactful.

You’ll also support the development of digital communications, including SharePoint content management and visual design. This role offers the chance to learn from senior colleagues while bringing your own ideas to improve how we communicate and engage across L&D.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and delivering communications activity that supports L&D priorities and organisational objectives.
  • Create and publish engaging content across internal platforms (e.g., SharePoint, newsletters, intranet) and digital channels.
  • Support the design and production of multimedia content
  • Ensure all communications meet accessibility standards and align with L&D brand guidelines.
  • Help monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications, using data and feedback to inform improvements.
  • Provide administrative support for communications projects, including scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across L&D and wider teams to gather stories, updates, and insights for communications.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and support change communications as required.
