Senior News Desk Lead
Along with the News Desk Manager, manage a national news desk providing an end to end communications service in support of Police Scotland’s response to incidents and corporate issues.
Provide a professional, trusted, proactive and reactive service that enhances and protects the reputation of Police Scotland by supporting clients with specialist communications advice and guidance and support.
Form part of the out of hours 'on call' cadre to support Police Scotland and Communication Officers by providing supervisory oversight capacity and cover any other supervisory role.
Support the News Desk Manager, to manage, develop and promote the news desk as the single point of contact for incoming media enquiries, incidents and corporate issues, and for internal requests / guidance for urgent matters.
To be part of the management team that will co-ordinate a 24/7 communications response to events, incidents and investigations. This will be done through the proactive use of all channels, in particular the use of digital channels.
Lead and develop communications strategies, plans, responses and products for delivery. Liaise as necessary with the Executive, Divisional Commanders, Heads of Departments or suitable deputies as required engaging with key stakeholders and partners when applicable.
To provide resilience support to the Corporate Communications function where and when appropriate for other services such as basic intranet updates, social media posts, press releases etc
