PIP 2 Investigator (Serious and Complex Crime) DAIU

FTC/Secondment until 28/02/2026

Thames Valley Police are looking for a self-motivated candidate who has a passion for serving victims of domestic abuse and seeking justice for them and the perpetrator. The Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit manage the most serious DA crimes and serious sexual assaults. You will be the Officer in the Case (OIC) and will see cases through to Crown Court trials. This is a demanding but satisfying role where you will be working daily in a small team and can really make a difference.

It is essential that you have effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide audience along with proven analytical and decision making skills.  You will also be self- motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision.

Capability to travel across the Force is required in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly. Due to unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working public transport may not be suitable. For this reason a full driving licence is considered essential for this role.

Qualified PIP 2 and domestic abuse experience is preferred but PIP 1 staff will also be considered.
