Forensic Biometric Officer
The East Midlands Specialist Operations Unit (EMSOU) is seeking to recruit into the role of Forensic Biometric Officer to provide services to enable the processing and reporting capability across the East Midlands region ensuring a comprehensive, efficient and effective service is delivered.
What you’ll be doing:
- Retrieve, accurately interpret and record DNA match reports, in order to produce National Streamlined Forensic Reports (SFR1) to include an a visual aid as appropriate, in accordance with service level agreements.
- Analyse and report data, in respect of arrestee DNA and Fingerprint samples, to ensure timely processing and outcomes.
- Report out information to key stakeholders, such as Force Intelligence Units, Custody Teams, Safeguarding Units and EMSOU Senior Management.
The must haves:
- A Level English Language, or above or equivalent qualification or previous experience of receiving and actioning written communications and responding to enquiries on the telephone or in person, initiating and preparing routine correspondence and reports.
- A Level Mathematics or above or equivalent qualification or previous experience of data inputting and retrieval, preparation and maintenance of statistical data and budgets.
- Demonstrate experience of working in a pressurised environment which requires attention to detail whilst undertaking repetitive tasks and maintaining accuracy to meet deadlines
Please be aware that due to the security checks required for this role you must have 5 years continuous residency in the UK.
Salary: £25,626 - £31,296
For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
