Salary: SO1 £35,526 - £37,692 plus 15% Shift Allowance and 14% weekend working

We are delighted to announce within NYP of an exciting opportunity to appoint a manager within the Crime Recording and Occurrence Management Unit (CROMU).
We are seeking applicants from motivated and dedicated individuals to manage a dedicated team made up of Crime Recording and Occurrence Management officers, and Crime Management Officers in delivering an outstanding level of customer service and ensure the force compliance with NCRS (National Crime recording Standards), and NSIR (National Standard for Incident recordings).
The role is challenging and rewarding in supporting the force be compliant with the national rules ensuring that all Police forces in England, and Wales have the best crime recording systems in the world which is consistently applied and delivers accurate statistics that are trusted by the public and puts the victims needs at its core.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team made up of Crime recording and Occurrence Management officer and Crime Management unit Officers in delivering an outstanding service.
- Support the Organization within a performance framework with the use of dip sampling, and identifying training needs to help develop staff to deliver an outstanding service.
- Support the work of the Force and Incident Registrar in implementation of any changes to the National rules, local policy, and recommendations from assurance reviews.
- Support the CROMU Service Improvement Inspector in any process improvements, or attendance at local/national meetings as a representative of CROMU.
- Assist in training and development within the department, and support of other departments in these areas.
- Take on portfolio work as identified to support the force.
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
- Proven ability to mentor, and coach others
- An ability to support staff to make them feel valued and support their wellbeing.
- Able to work under pressure, prioritising work to meet timescales
- Good interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
- Competent in the use of IT including Microsoft Office packages or equivalent
- Understanding and use of data including accurate collection
- A willingness to create a culture of innovation to help improve processes
- A working knowledge of the Home office counting rules.
