Gwent Police created the Police Staff Apprenticeship Scheme in 2021 with the aim of creating entry-level positions that anyone can apply for, regardless of experience. We give our apprentices exciting opportunities to work and learn in the police service with a view to providing the skills, experience and knowledge that will kick-start a long and fulfilling career. We hope apprentices can grow with the organisation and become key personnel for the future.

Apprenticeships have offered opportunities across the force in various areas such as witness care, evidential property, learning & development, human resources, criminal justice, facilities and information management. Our apprentices work towards nationally recognised qualifications whilst gaining real-life skills through their daily work. All apprentices work alongside experienced team members to learn how the department works and how their area of work supports the functions of the wider police force.

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and must have completed compulsory education.

Please note these are staff roles and not Police Officer Apprenticeships.
