Police Scotland is the second largest service in the UK with 23,000 officers and staff working together for the people of Scotland covering a third of the United Kingdom’s landmass with a unique range of urban, rural, island and remote communities.

Policing such a large and diverse territory takes people from all sorts of different backgrounds with a variety of skills and experience. 

We are looking for the best recruits to fill a limited number of vacancies across our divisions, where you will work as part a team providing an excellent service to members of the public, communities and partners by ensuring public safety through attendance at operational incidents. You will ensure that appropriate action is taken to support victims of crime, members of the public and bring offenders to justice.

The journey to becoming a Police Officer is neither short nor easy, each step demands dedication and commitment. Our selection process is designed to identify those people who demonstrate they have the potential to become an effective police officer. 

You must be aged 18 years or over (you can apply at 17 ½ years of age but will not be appointed until you are 18) and be both physically and mentally able to undertake police duties.
