Vehicle Check Volunteer
Devon and Cornwall Police are looking for support from members of our community who are interested in supporting the function and availability of our police vehicles and personnel.
An interesting and valued volunteering opportunity has opened up for Vehicle Check Volunteers to assist with the weekly checks of our fleet of vehicles. It is vitally important to keep all of our vehicles clean and fully equipped, to ensure that our officers and staff are kept mobile and safe at all times and that any defective or unsafe equipment is identified, repaired or replaced.
As a Vehicle Check Volunteer at Hawkins House, Exeter, your role will help maintain the fleet of vehicles that are used by our police personnel.
This role would suit someone who has the availability and flexibility to commit to supporting the role on a weekly basis, who has an eye for detail, a basic understanding of vehicles and has a basic understanding of using computers and document retention. Full support and training will be provided for the role with the opportunity to help support other locations with vehicle checks depending on need and availability.
A full and clean UK driving licence with at least 12 months driving experience is required for this position, as you will be driving marked and unmarked police vehicles around the compound and to police workshops.
Mileage expenses will be paid at 45p per mile.
