Job Title:           Sustainability Project Manager (All Wales Collaboration)

Post:                   Temporary Post (6 months)

Based at:          Home Force, Agile (All Wales Collaboration Team)

 

 

A unique opportunity has become available to work towards developing a Sustainability Strategy that will set out a pathway to reducing carbon emissions, in a bid to achieving net zero emissions in line with both Welsh and UK legislation. 

Applicants will be able to demonstrate an understanding of sustainability and the relevant departments in each Welsh force, such as Estates, Fleet, Procurement and ICT. They will be required to work directly with force leads, force champions and the subject matter experts from each Welsh force.

This is a challenging opportunity for both personal and professional development as you will be working with colleagues from the four Welsh forces and national bodies and stakeholders. The post holder will take ownership of a varied workload and will need to have good organisation, prioritisation, reporting and researching skills. Excellent communication skills and team working are key to the role.

This is a temporary arrangement for a period of 6 months. At the end of the period a detailed Wales Police Sustainability Strategy will be completed along with a Professional Network established. The pre-requirements to develop the Strategy will be completed and this will include any benefit identification, management and reporting, key performance indicators, measures for sustainability along with priorities and guidelines to achieve the priorities.

At 6 months, any decision to extend the arrangement temporarily will be made by the Directors of Finance. If a permanent collaborative arrangement is sought at the end of the 6 months. This would be subject to a new business case to include any legal/formal arrangements and agreements.         

This post is suitable for job share / part time working.

Please be aware that if your current post is within the Public Service Centre, if you were employed after 1st February 2017 you must have completed 2 years’ tenured service before applying for any other roles.

 

If you are currently involved in a PSD Investigation then you will not be eligible to apply for this role.

 

A member of staff who has obtained a temporary or fixed term post within the Force on an open competitive basis following internal and external advertising and has been selected through a proper selection process, will have the right to be made substantive in that post should the post become permanent (which must be the same process as that used for a permanent post).
