Hampshire Constabulary is looking for ethical, effective and accredited Detective Sergeants to join our Investigation teams.

Please note that you must be employed by a Home Office Force in order to apply. Successful applicants will have to pass a medical screening, vetting and a fitness test and be available to attend a 1 -2 week transferee course. The length of course will dependant on your skills transfer. We have courses scheduled throughout 2021 and 2022.

To investigate crime and any other incidents as deemed appropriate by the Investigator manager.
To effectively manage, lead and motivate staff to make the most effective use of resources to investigate offences, service demand in both volume and serious crime investigations and provide clear leadership within their respective areas of the organisation.
To supervise and investigate serious and complex investigations, utilising cross function and partnership arrangement.
Competent Sergeant with PIP2 qualification
- Ability to motivate staff and promote team building within the function
- Understanding of the law and police procedures as they relate to this post.
- Working knowledge and understanding of the manual of guidance for the preparations and submission of files for first submission.
- To be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of victims of crime.
- Comprehensive Knowledge of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and the Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act 1996
