PO/523/H Hertfordshire Constabulary - Constable/Detective Constable Transferee/Re-Joiners

Get Time Back In Your Day…

In Hertfordshire Constabulary you will be always more than a number. We are a family friendly force who take pride in developing talented people. By virtue of our size, everyone who transfers into Hertfordshire has a much better chance of enjoying diverse career and promotion opportunities.

We pride ourselves in recognising and rewarding motivated people and will support you throughout your professional journey with us.  We currently have opportunities for Constables in uniformed response, detective and safer neighbourhood policing roles. We are an innovative force who have not only signed up to the Police Now initiative but we are also running an Accelerated Detective Constable programme.

Hertfordshire is also part of a tri-force alliance (with Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire) which can offer different opportunities in major crime investigation, firearms and road policing.

Bordering London, you will experience the professional challenge of investigating complex crime and dealing with serious community issues without spending endless hours on a train or stuck in traffic on motorways commuting to work. If quality of life is what you value then Hertfordshire is the place to come.

So if you’re a serving constable or detective looking for an opportunity to develop your skills as a uniform officer or to become a detective then do consider serving in a county force where your voice will be heard and your professional contribution always appreciated.

The small print:  In addition to your salary we also pay currently £2,000 south eastern allowance.

Please note that you must have completed and passed your initial probation to apply for a transferee opportunity and currently work for a Home Office force.

If you are interested in us either as re-joiner or from a non-Home Office force, you will need to complete the attached skills audit form and submit this to bchcareers@herts.pnn.police.uk where you are also able to submit any questions about the process. Please quote the vacancy title in your email title.

Covid-19 Update:

Although we are welcoming applications now please note that we are following current NPCC guidelines imposed due to Covid-19; as such we are not processing any applications until after 30 September or until the NPCC guidelines change.

We are keeping a record of all officers who have applied during this time and will contact you directly as soon as we are able to progress your application.
