Cadet leader volunteer (Ref: 38)

Purpose

To assist local Police Volunteer Cadet Corps. Promote equality of opportunity to the people of Lincolnshire and treat all individuals fairly with dignity and respect.  To provide a high quality, customer focused, administrative support in accordance with the Staff Charter, Serving with PRIDE.

What you will be doing

Roles and tasks may vary, but will include:

  • To work with and assist the Volunteer Cadets as directed by the District Chief Inspector.
  • To assist in the development of Police Volunteer Cadet Corps.
  • To assist with the organising and administering of the Police Volunteer Cadet Corps as directed by the Volunteer line manager.
  • Undertake other clerical and administrative tasks when requested and agreed by the volunteer line manager.
Skills, experience and qualities needed

Prior experience in or knowledge of Police duties and tasks would be advantageous although not essential.

Additionally, we are looking for people who are:

  • confident providing advice and information
  • able to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • have experience in team leading and youth work
Location and times

The role will be based at Lincoln/Boston/Skegness/Louth/Bourne/Grantham Police Station.

The role will require a regular commitment of at least 3 hours per week on a Wednesday evening.

Additional hours to be of mutual agreement between the volunteer and the supervisor, but to fit around the volunteers other commitments.

Training and support

All volunteers receive a local induction and a Volunteer Handbook with all the information you will need to support you in your role.  Any training required will be provided through Cadet Leaders (Staff) via the District Chief Inspector.

You will have the Cadet Leader Liaison as a line manager, as well as the support of the V1000 Team at police HQ. In addition, you will have a local volunteer contact  available to answer any questions you may have, support you throughout your time with us, and to organise social events with other volunteers in your area

Other information

Expenses will be paid for travelling between your home and the station.

This role will require a security check and for you to sign an agreement to maintain confidentiality, as you may have access to sensitive material.

Safeguarding and children vulnerable adults

Lincolnshire Police has a duty to promote the welfare of, and safeguard of children and vulnerable adults. Volunteers are required to comply with Force Policy and Standard Operating Procedures in respect of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
