Key Responsibilities

The Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) is aimed at degree-holders who have attained a honours degree in any subject area and will be launching in 2020.

A two-year training programme, you will be employed as an officer from day one, gaining valuable experience of the role alongside studying towards a Level 6 Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice. Study will be a mix of on and off the job and you will be awarded your Graduate Diploma at the end of the two year programme and with completion of your probation period. You will be paid a full salary of £24,177 per annum plus £2,500 South East Allowance and will not be charged any tuition fees.


Skills & Experience

To apply for the DHEP, you will need to:

• be aged 18 years or over (on the day you submit your application)
• have a current full UK manual driving license
• have successfully completed, and be able to evidence, a UK undergraduate honours degree (360 credits) in any subject. Applicants with non – UK degrees can be considered if their degree is recognised as equivalent by UK NARIC but will need to provide evidence of an acceptable English language qualification if their degree was not taught and assessed in English.
• have leave to enter or leave to remain in the UK for an indefinite period
• Have lived in the UK for three continuous years, immediately prior to application
• not be a member of the British National Party (BNP) plus other relevant organisations, such as Combat 18 or The National Front
• not have tattoos which could cause offence
• not have more than 6 penalty points on your driving license
• Not have served a prison sentence
