Cyber Crime Protect Officer, based at Treforest Police Station, Scale 6/SO1

Applications are invited for the newly established post for a Cyber Crime Protect officer. The objectives of this role are:

To reduce the overall impact from Cybercrime in the South Wales Police area, empowering the community by making it aware of the risks, threats and impact of Cybercrime and how they might mitigate them. Delivering a wide range of cyber security initiatives incorporating technological security solutions, mitigation, user behaviour and incident response, to empower organisations to protect themselves, increasing resilience across all sectors of industry and society.

Protect team members will work in close partnership with public and private sector organisations to encourage ‘secure by design’ infrastructure to safeguard UK business against Cybercrime.

To prepare and convey presentations in front of live audiences to share experience or advice/guidance as appropriate.

To work with partners, for example Get Safe Online / Cyber Aware to deliver online safety/ Cyber Security messages through a variety of online and offline mediums.

To play a critical role in developing a nationally networked capability, targeting a significant and rapidly evolving threat to the UK, whilst ensuring timely and authoritative messaging is delivered across the Region.

This role is not suitable for Job share/part time workers due to the continuity of the role.

Please be aware that if your current post is within the Public Service Centre, if you were employed after 1st February 2017 you must have completed 2 years’ tenured service before applying for any other roles.

Successful candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Level.

Cyflwyno ystod eang o fentrau diogelwch seibr yn cynnwys datrysiadau diogelwch technolegol, lliniaru, ymddygiad defnyddiwr ac ymateb i ddigwyddiadau, er mwyn ymrymuso sefydliadau i warchod eu hunain, gan gynyddu gwydnwch ar draws pob sector o ddiwydiant a chymdeithas.

Bydd aelodau'r tîm gwarchod yn gweithio mewn partneriaeth agos â sefydliadau'r sector cyhoeddus a phreifat i annog defnydd o isadeiledd 'cynllun diogel' i warchod busnesau'r DU rhag Seibrdroseddu.

Paratoi a rhoi cyflwyniadau o flaen cynulleidfaoedd byw er mwyn rhannu profiad neu gyngor/arweiniad addas.

Chwarae rôl allweddol wrth ddatblygu galluogrwydd rhwydweithiol cenedlaethol, gan dargedu bygythiad i'r DU sy'n sylweddol ac yn datblygu'n gyflym, wrth sicrhau fod negeseuon amserol ac awdurdodol yn cael eu cyflwyno ar draws y Rhanbarth.

Nid yw'r rôl hon yn addas ar gyfer rhannu Swydd/gweithwyr rhan amser oherwydd parhad y rôl.
