A strategic alliance has been formed between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in order to enable both forces to meet the challenge of reducing policing budgets. By working more closely together the forces will benefit from greater operational and organisational resilience, making us the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales.

Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police ICT & Digital Services are inviting applications from candidates with previous experience and qualifications in CCTV installation, maintenance and repair. The successful candidate would join our busy, customer focused internal IT maintenance team responsible for the alliance's site, custody suite and operations rooms CCTV equipment.

The ideal candidate will have the skills to work on their own initiative and as a team. They will have excellent communication skills and a vast knowledge of installation and maintenance of analogue and IP CCTV technologies.

The post will be based at Hindlip, from our engineering workshops and you would have the use of a company vehicle, tools and test equipment during work hours.


ICT (Level 3) professional qualification or equivalent ICT qualification (i.e Academic qualification to ONC/BTEC National Certificate in CCTV, electrical/electronic engineering or Level 3 equivalents or substantial experience working with electrical/electronic equipment).

ITIL foundation certificate in IT Service Management, or similar.

Knowledge of relevant IT technologies and applications including their use and application.

Good knowledge, acquired through hands-on experience, in a customer service support environment for deskside systems.

Knowledge of health and safety issues when working with electrical/mechanical equipment.


Able to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical team members.

Technical experience of PCs including desktop hardware and software.

Excellent technical experience of current protocols, operating systems and standards.

Experience of working in a customer focused role.

Experience of supporting a diverse user base on both hardware and software related issues.

Experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of IP, wireless and analogue CCTV systems.

Experience in diagnostics and repairs of CCTV matrix systems, telemetry receiver equipment or RF communications systems.

Experience of digital audio recording system installation, maintenance and repair
