The post holder will:

To assist with the ordering, storing and distributing of motor vehicle spares and equipment in a cost effective and efficient manner thereby assisting in the efficient maintenance of the Vehicle Fleet. The successful candidate must hold or be prepared to obtain and undertake a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship. Must be able to work, on occasions, unsupervised as the postholder and Supervisor may be required to work remotely at other workshops. A working knowledge of COSHH Regulations, to advise customers on the usage of dangerous substances.

You will be expected to:

  • Assist with the control, ordering and the supply of parts and equipmentto Force Workshops so that the maximum number of vehicles can be kept available.
  • Assist with maintaining the parts computer system which entails the maintenance of approximately 17,000 parts files, 21,500 purchase orders, 340 suppliers files, 43,500 job sheets and 1,200 vehicle files on the vehicle fleet computer system. Operate and manage the computer using latest technology including bar coding and a direct link parts system to suppliers via a PC and modem which ensures an efficient and effective service to our customers.

  • Assist in the process of Warranty Claims for vehicle faults and maintain associated records especially the recording of credits which reduce operating costs and give a more accurate recor of individual vehicle costs.
