Key responsibilities of the role include -

The Scottish Prevention Hub represents a pioneering and transformative programme aimed at creating a more preventative and collaborative public sector in Scotland. By fostering system-wide partnerships, leveraging data insights, and building capacity for collaborative working. The Hub seeks to to significantly improve the health, well-being, and life chances of people across Scotland.

The Scottish Prevention Hub (The Hub) is a collaborative initiative between Public Health Scotland (PHS), Police Scotland (PS), and the Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI) at the University of Edinburgh. Launched in August 2023, the Hub aims to revolutionise the approach to public sector reform in Scotland, through the lens of primary prevention for children and young people via its 6 “systems change” workstreams.

Place-Based Insights: Mobilising, advising and supporting multi-agency teams around prevention-led approaches

Data Collaboration: Leading the development of a business case for a Common Data Platform Scotland (CDPS), to support operational working, prevention including predictive analytics, and research.

Research and Evidence: Support and co-ordinate cross-disciplinary research linked to prevention

Collaborative Leadership: Advocating, designing and delivering Collaborative Leadership programmes

Learning and Evaluation: Advocating, designing and delivering embedded learning and evaluation into whole system change initiatives

Sustainable Structures: Establish a blueprint and share learning  for successful cross-sector collaboration, addressing practical challenges and organisational priorities.

The work location is flexible, however there will be an expectation to be within the Edinburgh Futures Institute one day per week.
