Digital Forensic Technician

Applicants should be aware that this role regularly involves the viewing of images containing the sexual abuse of children and other images of an extremely offensive and distressing nature.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a force resource with regard to the forensic recovery, analysis and presentation of digital evidence from devices including mobile telephones, tablet computers and other digital devices.

The successful candidate will need to manage ever changing demands, managing workloads in line with risk assessments and deadlines, constantly multi-tasking between jobs.

You will be required to ensure the continuity of all exhibits maintaining integrity throughout to prove or disprove the presence of criminal offences under investigation, give advice and guidance to investigating officers, compile findings of evidence reports and to present such evidence in a Court of Law.

The successful candidate will need to obtain the following:

Attend and pass the following courses at the College of Policing:

 Core Skills in Data Recovery & Analysis Course

 Core Skills in Mobile Phone Forensics

Attend and successfully complete the following courses at Guidance Software:

 Encase Computer Forensics 1

Attend and successfully complete the following courses at Cellebrite:

 Cellebrite Logical and Physical

Attend and successfully complete the following courses at XRY:

 XRY Certification and Intermediate

Please note that the selection process for this post will include a brief practical exercise. Applicants successful at sift will be given details in advance of the assessment.
