Police Scotland ICT Department is embarking on an ambitious programme to implement a range of 'enabling' technologies in support of operational policing. We are looking to recruit an experienced Production DBA to a dedicated team that support and develop a large and varied enterprise estate.
Under the direction of the Production DBA Lead, you will be making a valuable contribution to providing professional technical services to adapt, transform and improve Police Scotland’s systems in line with the policing 2026 Strategy. Additionally you will be responsible for maintaining the existing database estate in terms of capacity, performance, availability and ongoing developments and upgrades.
As a successful Production DBA you will be educated to degree level in a related computer science or software engineering discipline or where no formal qualifications exist you will have relevant experience within the database administration technical field. You are required to have an understanding and knowledge with either Oracle RDBMS or Microsoft SQL Server database experience as well as the surrounding technologies required to support and develop these databases. Additionally you should have good communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
